Frank..how great to read of your latest honors in GOURMET..and to find your super web site!Your Grandmother would be so proud of you. I still pause to check out her house on Whittemore Point road as we drive byas we always did when she lived there alone. We now spend our summers in Hebron..on the lake (and our winters outside of Beaufort, S.C.) ..bemoan the unloved condition of her house there. Your recipes are very unlike hers..I'll enjoy trying some. I still make red cabbage, an eggplant casserole and gingerbread from her loose leaf cookbook. The pounds of butter and quarts of heavy cream that she used! We've lost track of your sisters...please say "Hello" to them for us. With very fond memories of Virginia, Marj Dehls

My wife and I have recently moved to the Boston area from New York City. On Saturday evening, to celebrate my 40th Birthday, my wife to me to L'Espalier for dinner. Without reservation, it was one of the finest, most pleasant dining experiences I have ever had. Kudos to the staff and owner.

After having recently been to you establishment for the first time, I instantly have a new favorite in the Boston area. The food was delectable. The venison I had practically melted in my mouth. The sorbets in laveder champange sauce, was heavenly, the cheeses delightful and the staff impeccable.

My family's Fathers Day gift to this "foodie" will be my first visit to Boston's Premiere Restaurant in the very near future. I will be traveling solo: I hope this does not exempt me from the Degustation where you state whole tables must select Degustation....is one person seated solo a whole table?
